From 23 May to 27 September 2026, the Museo Civico Archeologico “Michele Petrone” in Vieste presents "Giorgio de Chirico. Return to the Mediterranean", featuring around fifty works — oils, watercolours and drawings — loaned by the Fondazione Giorgio e Isa de Chirico in Rome.
The exhibition, organized by the Municipality of Vieste with the Foundation and curated by Prof. Lorenzo Canova with artistic direction by Giuseppe Benvenuto, explores de Chirico's relationship with Mediterranean imagery, highlighting connections between memory, myth and art history.
Opening hours: May, June and September: Tuesday–Sunday 18:00–22:00; July and August: Tuesday–Sunday 18:30–23:30. Closed on Mondays.
Tickets: full €10; reduced €7 (residents, over 65, under 18, university students, groups of min. 10); free for children up to 12, people with disabilities and one companion, professional guides and journalists.
The show provides an opportunity to reassess the late production of the Metaphysical master in relation to the Mediterranean landscape and cultural tradition, contributing to cultural tourism in the Gargano area.
