Dates: 10 May - 24 May 2026

The Centro d'arte Raffaello stages a solo exhibition devoted to Gianbecchina, held at the Church of Saints Crispino and Crispiniano within the Casa Professa complex in Palermo. The show is part of the gallery’s 40th-anniversary series "Storie e dialoghi" and is supported by Palermo’s Week of Cultures.

What to see

  • Works on display: about thirty pieces, including oils on canvas and masonite and watercolors, spanning from the 1930s to the 1990s.
  • Main themes: the dignity of rural labor, the centrality of the land, portraits, landscapes and scenes of peasant life.
  • Artistic scope: a broad chronological selection that highlights the artist’s formal research and stylistic phases.

Curators and collaboration

The exhibition is curated by Tanino Bonifacio and organized in cooperation with the Gianbecchina Archive, which provided several works, and with the artist’s son, Alessandro Becchina. Sabrina Di Gesaro directed the anniversary program on behalf of the gallery.
