Historic Residences Open to the Public: National Day of Historic Houses

On Sunday 24 May 2026 the 16th edition of the National Day organised by the Association of Historic Houses of Italy (Adsi) invites visitors to explore hundreds of historic residences nationwide. The event opens palaces, villas, castles and historic gardens that are frequently outside mainstream tourist routes.

This initiative aims to raise awareness about the protection and conservation of privately owned historic-architectural heritage. Many sites will offer free entry and activities designed to engage a broad audience, including families and school groups.

• Lucca: several residences will be open, such as Palazzo Pfanner, Villa Mansi, Villa Torrigiani, Villa Fattoria Gambaro, Tenuta Maria Teresa, Villa di Forci and the Fortezza di Montecarlo.
• New for 2026: Villa Clerici Triklinea, Fortezza di Montecarlo and Villa Forci join the list of open sites.
