Genoa: Rolli Days 2026, a milestone for the UNESCO anniversary

The spring edition of the Rolli Days, held from 27 to 29 March 2026, attracted over 70,000 visitors. The event, tied to the 20th anniversary of the city's UNESCO listing, welcomed guests from across Italy and abroad, with a notable representation of people aged 26 to 35.

Survey figures indicate a substantial influx of new audiences: more than 60% of attendees were first-time visitors, highlighting the event's ability to engage fresh segments of the public and to renew interest in Genoa's historic assets.

Key strengths

Local authorities emphasized the strategic importance of the initiative for cultural promotion and tourism development. Main strengths included:

  • Heritage enhancement: promoting historic residences as core elements of city identity and appeal.
  • Shared stewardship: activities that involve citizens, cultural professionals and emerging specialists.
  • Tourism impact: growth in visitors from other regions and abroad, benefiting the local cultural offer.

Top sites and activities

The most visited historic houses and special openings included:

  • Palazzo Rosso
  • Palazzo Tobia Pallavicino
  • Palazzo Nicolosio Lomellino
  • Palazzo Bianco
  • Badia di Sant'Andrea (special opening)
  • Grotta Pavese Doria (special opening)

Alongside guided tours, the programme featured street performances as part of Rolli Live, the public initiative Open Piano – A piano for all, and more than one hundred science communicators who helped interpret the sites for visitors.

Outlook

The success of this edition reinforces Genoa's standing as a cultural destination and validates approaches centered on quality, research and youth engagement. Authorities view the Rolli Days as a platform to strengthen connections between heritage, residents and tourists, with positive effects on the city's identity and attractiveness.

Practical note: to attend future editions, check the city's cultural events calendar and official tourism channels for updates on openings, routes and side programmes.
