Galleria BPER expands to L'Aquila and Ferrara

The Galleria BPER is extending its network by converting the banking group's historic buildings into public exhibition venues. The 2026 program, under the banner "Poli Culturali BPER. A System of Shared Heritage", aims to connect collections and sites across several cities with thematic exhibitions and cultural initiatives.

Key openings planned for 2026 include:

  • Palazzo Farinosi‑Branconio, L'Aquila – scheduled for summer 2026; the recently reopened palace will display works from the bank's holdings, with a focus on art from central and southern Italy.
  • Palazzo Barbantini‑Koch, Ferrara – scheduled for autumn 2026; the neo‑Renaissance building will host an exhibition devoted to Ferrarese and Emiliana painting from the 15th to the 20th century.

The plan foresees five exhibitions across four venues, including the already active Palazzo Martinengo di Villagana in Brescia. The bank's corporate collection comprises over 2,500 works, which are being catalogued, conserved and programmed for public display.

Collection management and curatorial oversight are entrusted to specialists; Sabrina Bianchi is noted as responsible for the cultural heritage and corporate collection, emphasizing the aim to make the bank's assets open, accessible and alive, turning historic premises into spaces for knowledge, dialogue and community engagement.

Practical notes:

  • Timing: provisional openings in summer 2026 (L'Aquila) and autumn 2026 (Ferrara).
  • Program: five exhibitions across four venues in 2026, continuing activities already started in Modena and other cities.
  • Visitor information: restored historic buildings will be accessible to the public with dedicated routes and services.

Visitors should check the gallery's official channels for confirmed dates and ticketing information as individual exhibition schedules are released.
