'Porcari in Giro' — an exhibition on the Giro d'Italia at the Glass Palace

Officially opened on Sunday 19 April at 11:00, the exhibition "Porcari in Giro" at the Fondazione Giuseppe Lazzareschi's Glass Palace offers a curated overview of the Giro d'Italia's history through rare bicycles and archival materials.

Organised by G.S. Cicli Carube a.s.d., the show displays iconic racing bikes, pink jerseys, apparel, memorabilia, and historic photos and videos documenting the champions from the 1950s to today. Highlights include a late 19th-century "bicicletto" (1890) and rotating displays of vintage bicycles.

  • Dates: 19 April — 31 May 2026
  • Admission: free
  • Venue: Glass Palace (Palazzo di Vetro), Fondazione Giuseppe Lazzareschi, Porcari
  • Opening hours:
    • Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 10:00–13:00 / 14:00–18:00
    • Saturday and Sunday: 16:00–19:00

The exhibition is part of the official "Porcari stage town 2026" programme; on Wednesday 20 May Porcari will host the start of the 11th stage of the Giro d'Italia.

Families can enjoy a dedicated kids' area featuring a marble track and the Giro d'Italia Game, plus a display of local children's drawings. Throughout the run, visitors will have the opportunity to attend meetings with past and present cycling personalities.

The organisers thank local photographers and partners for images and archival material that frame the display. Additional surprises were reserved for the opening day.
