Museion presents a major retrospective dedicated to Franco Vaccari that frames art as a relational process: works are not mere objects to behold but environments shaped by the presence of the public. The exhibition runs from 27 March to 13 September 2026 on the museum's third and fourth floors and privileges participation and sensory activation.
Concept and installation
Curated by Frida Carazzato and Luca Panaro, the show reconstructs historic environments and archival material to convey Vaccari's idea of the artwork as a feedback — a response triggered by people. The layout functions as an anthropological lab where photographic memory and everyday objects intersect with visitor behavior and gestures.
Highlights
An intriguing aspect of the exhibited material is the cultural comparison it invites: different international reactivations of the same device revealed strikingly varied uses and visitor behaviors compared to the 1970s presentation in Italy.
Visitor information
This retrospective offers a clear view of how Vaccari treated the image as evidence of passage and how the artwork addresses the public, inviting them to participate — even implicitly — in the definition of its meaning.
