Tulip Festival 2026 in Castiglione del Lago: practical guide

What to expect

  • Floral displays and Tulip Garden: curated exhibitions in the town centre and photo-friendly areas.
  • Decorated floats: handcrafted creations, some made with petals; the 2026 theme draws on animated cartoons.
  • Parades: daytime processions through the historic centre and a special evening parade on the lakeside to close the festival.
  • "Fiori & Passioni" market in Piazza Dante Alighieri featuring local crafts and artisan products.
  • Food & wine: the Taverna all'Uliveto, near Palazzo della Corgna, serves Umbrian specialties during the event; show cooking and food appointments are scheduled.

Practical schedule

Period: 24 April - 2 May 2026.

  • Opening weekend (25-26 April): town-centre festivities from 14:30 to 19:00 with street bands and historical processions.
  • Tulip Night (2 May): evening parade on the lakeside from 18:30 to midnight with laser show, illuminated stilt walkers and live music.
  • Taverna all'Uliveto hours: open every evening for dinner; open for lunch on holidays and weekends (24 April - 2 May).

Tickets and access

Parades: full €10, reduced €5 (ages 13-17), free for children up to 12. Tickets sold online and at on-site box offices (town centre 25-26 April, lakeside 2 May).

  • Arrive early for parades to secure parking and good viewpoints along the historic centre or the lakeside.
  • Wear comfortable shoes: the village is best explored on foot through medieval alleys and panoramic spots over Lake Trasimeno.
