FMS Academy: training opportunities in Siena's museum network

Fondazione Musei Senesi has started the FMS Academy programme, launching six internships for recent graduates across several museums in the province of Siena. The initiative combines theoretical training with on-site activities to support professional entry into the cultural sector.

Programme goals

• Heritage interpretation: enhance collections as meaningful resources for contemporary audiences.
• Museum communication: strengthen use of digital tools for access and promotion.
• Accessibility and engagement: design inclusive paths and activities for diverse audiences.
• Sustainability: implement management practices respectful of the territory and cultural assets.

Training approach

The programme includes one month of shared training with lecturers and industry professionals on digital communication, heritage interpretation, accessibility, sustainability and visitor technologies. The methodology is interdisciplinary and focused on direct application in host institutions.

Duration and outlook
