Galleria Zema hosts Everything Is Bright Here, the first solo exhibition in Italy by Lucia Buricelli. The show presents photographs taken in New York between 2019 and 2025, defined by saturated color, direct flash and close framing that turn everyday fragments into powerful visual sequences.
The works do more than document the city: they alter perception to highlight the symbolic and commercial forces that shape contemporary urban space. Color functions as a selective device—an entry point that unsettles the gaze and reveals the visual overload of the global metropolis.
Born in Venice in 1994, Lucia Buricelli trained in Italy and the United States, including studies in photojournalism in New York. Her practice evolves from street photography toward a deliberate construction of the image, focusing on urban space as a field of visual and social forces.
Founded in Rome in 2025, Galleria Zema is committed to exhibiting and promoting women artists, with a special focus on contemporary photography by women. The gallery aims to be a space for visibility and dialogue, where photography engages with social and cultural issues.
Visitor tip: arrive early for the opening event to join the presentation; the exhibition is recommended for those interested in contemporary photography and urban studies.
