The international G.R.E.E.N. conference (Gardens as Resources for the Enhancement of Environmental and Natural Heritage) focuses on the role of historic and archaeological gardens in site protection and enhancement. The event brings together cultural institutions, research centres and specialists to discuss operational strategies and share project outcomes.

Perceptions of vegetation in archaeological settings have evolved: once mainly seen as a conservation threat, green areas are increasingly regarded as strategic resources for safeguarding remains, improving landscape quality and enriching the visitor experience. The conference examines this shift through an interdisciplinary lens, combining archaeology, landscape architecture, botany and conservation science.
