April 5, 2026 (Easter) – Free entry to Rome’s civic museums and archaeological sites
On April 5, 2026, which is both Easter Sunday and the first Sunday of the month, a number of venues within the Rome Capital Museums System and selected archaeological areas will be open free of charge. It’s a chance to explore permanent collections, temporary exhibitions and iconic places across the city.
Main venues and opening times
- Museum of the Forma Urbis (Celio Archaeological Park): 10:00–19:00 (last admission 18:00).
- Area Sacra of Largo Argentina: 9:30–19:00 (last admission 18:45).
- Circo Massimo archaeological area: 9:30–19:00 (last admission 18:00).
- Imperial Fora (entrance at Trajan’s Column): 9:00–19:15.
Access is free subject to each site’s capacity limits. Reservations are required only for groups and can be made via Rome Capital’s contact center at 060608 (9:00–19:00).
Guided tours and special programs
Special guided visits, such as those previously scheduled for Palazzo Senatorio on the Capitoline Hill, were offered with limited places and required prior booking; at the time bookings opened these visits were fully booked. Guided tours were planned in small groups with timed departures.

- Ancient Civilizations of Turkmenistan – Palazzo dei Conservatori: a collection of archaeological pieces.
- The Unfinished: between poetics and technique – Pinacoteca: an insight into the creative stages of unfinished paintings.
