Four exhibitions forming a shared narrative on contemporary female art

Summer 2026 in Italy hosts a dispersed exhibition project featuring four international women artists in Gradara, Perugia, San Marino and Siena. Works range from painting to site-specific installations and sensory materials, inviting visitors to active, immersive encounters with themes of body, memory and identity.

Gradara — Bongsu Park: the sensory body

Dates: 6 June – 5 July 2026

At MARV – Museo d’Arte Rubini Vesin, "The Flowers of Memory" by Bongsu Park activates smell, touch and sight. The Korean artist uses plants, scents and textures to make memory a living material and the museum space a pathway to be experienced rather than merely observed.

Perugia — Araminta Blue: the body traversed

Dates: 13 June – 26 July 2026

At Palazzo della Penna, "Venti Trasversali" by Araminta Blue examines layered architectures and mythic frescoes. Her painting creates tensions around maternity, fate and transformation, presenting the body as a porous threshold where desires and anxieties converge.

San Marino — Ndidi Emefiele: the political body

Dates: 20 June – 3 September 2026

At Palazzo SUMS, "Inarrestabile" centers the political body. Ndidi Emefiele’s female figures challenge conventional portrayals of women through painting, collage and African materials, prompting reflections on power, memory and self-determination.

Siena — Teodora Axente: art in dialogue with history

Dates: 8 August 2026

At the Museo Civico Palazzo Pubblico, Teodora Axente presents a site-specific installation engaging Ambrogio Lorenzetti’s fresco cycle on Good and Bad Government and paints the drappellone for the Palio of 16 August, merging contemporary practice with historic heritage.
