The Herculaneum Archaeological Park offers two family-oriented guided tours designed to introduce children to mythology and archaeology. The route pairs direct observation of finds with child-friendly storytelling and visits to key areas of the site linked to the Hercules legend.
The walk begins at the Hall of the Augustales, where frescoes show Hercules alongside deities such as Juno and Minerva. It continues along the main street to the House of the Relief of Telephus, featuring the famous marble relief connected to Hercules's son, and ends at the Antiquarium, which houses a bronze fountain depicting the Lernaean Hydra, evoking the hero's second labour.
This initiative aims to bring children closer to archaeology through tangible stories and artifacts, balancing scientific accuracy with engaging narration.
