The Herculaneum Archaeological Park presents two family-oriented guided tours that bring the myth of Hercules to life through the site's artworks and monuments. The itinerary blends archaeological observation with storytelling suitable for children, highlighting frescoes, reliefs and sculptures that celebrate the hero.
The tour starts in the Hall of the Augustales, where frescoes depict Hercules alongside gods such as Juno and Minerva. Moving along the main street visitors reach the House of the Relief of Telephus, famous for its marble relief celebrating Telephus, son of Hercules. The visit concludes at the Antiquarium, home to the bronze fountain representing the Lernaean Hydra, linked to Hercules’ second labor.
This guided experience aims to introduce children to archaeology through compelling narratives and authentic artifacts, combining scholarly accuracy with an engaging presentation.
