SommersiVo is Dardust's sound installation for the 61st International Art Exhibition, combining composition, technology and audience interaction to portray Venice as a layered sonic environment.
Conceived with set designer Paolo Fantin and supported technologically by H-Farm and Cisco, the work evokes an underwater atmosphere where a piano appears suspended beneath the surface. A recorded composition triggers the instrument: every 55 minutes the piano activates on its own, producing evolving sequences that create an ongoing emotional reverberation.
The installation also features an interactive element: visitors can submit a thought that is processed by an artificial intelligence system and translated into sound. Each contribution corresponds to one of Dardust's micro-themes, so the sonic outcome is unique at each visit, turning individual memory into a collective, ever-changing performance.
The piece frames Venice as a city of visible layers and submerged memories, offering an invitation to perceive urban identity through sound and to become part of a living, sonic archive.
