“Cortili Narranti” and the Città di Erice Literary Prize at the Turin International Book Fair

The Cortili Narranti festival, organized by the Vivere Erice association, is taking part in the Turin International Book Fair within the Luci sui Festival section, which highlights significant cultural festivals across Italy.

The festival’s presence at the Book Fair recognizes years of work promoting reading, territorial enhancement and dialogue with authors and artists. Organizers say the event has successfully turned Erice’s historic courtyards into storytelling and meeting places, engaging local communities and younger audiences.

• Project: converting historic courtyards and corners of Erice into shared cultural spaces;
• Main awards: Città di Erice Literary Prize (9th edition) and Young Literary Prize (3rd edition);
• School involvement: eight secondary schools participated in the Young Prize to encourage reading and engagement;
• Goal: strengthen cultural networks and present upcoming initiatives.

The awards will also be presented in Palermo: on 7 June the Città di Erice Literary Prize and the Young Prize will be showcased as part of Marina di Libri, an independent publishing festival that gathers authors, publishers and readers.

“Being at the Book Fair is a source of pride and an incentive to continue,” says Mariza D’Anna, president of Vivere Erice, while Noemi Genovese, vice-president and coordinator of the prize, highlights the educational value of involving young people in cultural processes.
