Autore: Redazione 23/08/2025 09:58

The village of Chambave lies on sunny hills and is surrounded by vineyards, located not far from Aosta. This small village offers authentic and welcoming atmospheres, where nature is deeply connected to its history. Chambave is renowned for its production of fine wines and spices, such as the Moscato di Chambave and the cultivation of top-quality saffron.

Chambave offers unique landscapes and unforgettable moments thanks to its timeless traditions, kept alive by its inhabitants. Here, even a simple walk becomes memorable, as every step is accompanied by the aromatic scents of the village and the unspoiled nature that surrounds it.

What to see in Chambave

The heart of the village is undoubtedly its historic center, with stone houses and slate roofs, creating a timeless atmosphere that soothes and relaxes visitors. Here stands the parish church of San Lorenzo, which preserves valuable works of art and tells the long religious tradition of the village. Next to it rises the ancient bell tower, a landmark for both locals and tourists.

It is also impossible not to mention the cooperative “La Crotta di Vegnon”, where numerous wines (most of them DOC) and some grappas are produced. Guided tours for groups can be booked, and purchases are possible at the nearby shop.

Events and traditions

Chambave is a lively village that often comes alive with traditional festivals, filling every corner with joy and bringing together locals and visitors. The Féta di Resén (Grape Festival) is a tradition held every year on the last weekend of September, celebrating the importance of grapes for the village and awarding the winemaker with the best harvest.

The patronal feast of San Lorenzo, celebrated every August 10, fills Chambave with music and entertainment, spreading joy and excitement through every alley. On the following day, August 11, the traditional bocce game called “della Rouletta” takes place. Contestants, dressed in period costumes, must imitate the gestures of the previous player, turning the match into a fun and entertaining spectacle.

Thanks to its central location in the region, Chambave is the ideal starting point for excursions and visits. From here, many routes begin, some leading to the exploration of ancient surrounding castles such as Cly and Fénis, two of the most iconic in the region.
