Updates for the Certosa of San Lorenzo in Padula

Starting on 1 June 2026, the Certosa of Padula, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, enters a new phase of integrated museum services. The program is the result of coordination between the Regional Directorate of National Museums of Campania, the Municipality of Padula and the Aion Consortium, the concessionaire for enhancement services.

The plan aims to deliver a more cohesive visitor experience through a single ticket and targeted interventions on routes, displays and accessibility. The single ticket price has been set at €14.

What visitors should expect

  • Single ticket: streamlined access to the site's main monuments and artistic highlights.
  • Expanded routes: the Priors' Quarter (Quarto del Priore) has been reconfigured; the Library and the former monks' cells will reopen soon and host the contemporary art installations "Le opere e i giorni".
  • Accessibility and safety: restorations and safety works have been carried out to improve the monument's usability.
  • Cultural programming: a full summer schedule featuring theatre, dance and music events, with well-known Italian performers participating.

Significance

The integrated management seeks to strengthen the Certosa's role within a wider cultural network, connecting historical memory, artistic heritage and contemporary projects. The measures are intended to attract higher-quality tourism, extend visitor stays and generate cultural and economic benefits for the territory.

For the latest information on openings, schedules and the events calendar, check the official channels of the site or the institutions involved, since the program may be updated with activities organized by local associations and promoters.
