As part of the 32nd edition of Monumenti Aperti, the Masonic House in Cagliari, located in the Castello quarter, received 3,100 visitors. This placed the site fourth among all open locations in the city and first among private venues, highlighting growing interest in local historical heritage.
The guided visits focused on the institution's history, the building's architectural features and the meaning of Masonic symbols, offering clear explanations and direct dialogue between visitors and hosts. This approach helped dispel misconceptions and improved public understanding of the site's cultural role.
Why it matters: opening the Masonic House offered both the enhancement of a historic building and a chance for institutional engagement with civil society, strengthening cultural presence in the area and promoting local heritage.
