Campo Ligure: the village in the heart of the Stura Valley

Autore: Redazione 02/08/2025 19:19

Just a few kilometers from Genoa, nestled in the Ligurian hinterland, lies Campo Ligure, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

This village is known throughout Europe for its ancient and precious artistic tradition: gold and silver filigree, crafted here since the 18th century.

What to see in Campo Ligure

The symbol of the village is the Spinola Castle, built around the year 1000, which dominates the town from above.

Also in the village is the Filigree Museum, unique in Italy, where masterpieces of the finest gold and silver threads from all over the world are on display.

Also noteworthy are the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena, with its Romanesque portal, and the picturesque medieval bridge over the Stura stream.

Events, culture and traditions

Linked to its artisan tradition, the village of Campo Ligure celebrates in August the Filigree Exhibition, which attracts visitors from all over the world.

Other important events include the Chestnut Festival and food fairs dedicated to local products: honey, mushrooms, cured meats, and typical cheeses of the Ligurian Apennines.

What to see around Campo Ligure

Not far from the village are the trails of the Beigua Natural Park, perfect for those seeking trekking or mountain biking routes.

Also nearby are Masone, with its ecomuseum, and Rossiglione, another town rich in history and tradition.

Just half an hour from the village, you can reach Genoa, which offers countless tourist attractions, starting with the aquarium and the famous Palazzi dei Rolli.

Campo Ligure embodies a perfect mix of art and nature and a strong Ligurian identity.

A village that, with gold and silver, has carved out a place in international tourism, increasingly celebrating the cultural heritage of Liguria.
