FAI Walks in Biodiversity — 23–24 May 2026

The FAI organizes two days focused on biodiversity with a spread calendar of activities across 25 sites in 15 Italian regions. The program includes guided walks, hands-on workshops and field visits designed to showcase local habitats and species together with experts such as biologists, ornithologists and nature guides.

Main sites and activities

• Villa Rezzola, Lerici (SP) — walk in the English garden focusing on the role of water and water recovery practices. Address: Via Militare, 33, 19032 Lerici (SP).
• Bosco Carmela Cortini, Valzo (TE) — a 5 km route in the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park, in areas usually closed to the public.
• Alpe Pedroria, Talamona (SO) — exploration of the alpine landscape and grazing issues; note: this site hosts an exceptional event on 31 May.
• Bosco di San Francesco, Assisi (PG) — activities on pollinating insects and butterfly observation.
• Abbazia di Santa Maria di Cerrate, LE — exhibition of traditional agricultural varieties: almonds, legumes, ancient grains and citrus.
• Baia di Ieranto, Massa Lubrense (NA) — citizen science bioblitz to map local terrestrial and marine biodiversity.
• Giardino della Kolymbethra, Parco Valle dei Templi (AG) — immersion in the riparian wood and observation of water-related microhabitats.
