April programme at the Villa Romana delle Grotte

The Fondazione Villa Romana delle Grotte has published its list of activities for April 2026, including guided tours, educational workshops and cultural walks aimed at adults, families, children and schools. The calendar is regularly updated and organised in collaboration with the Island’s Museum System and the Tuscan Archipelago National Park.

Access: site visits are currently available by reservation only; the ticket office is not open.

Main events in April

• Saturday, April 4 – 3:30 PM – Guided tour with the archaeologist. Duration 1 hour. Easy route; suitable footwear recommended.
• Saturday, April 10 – 11:30 AM – Visit with the Vagamonti Association of Prato: a meeting focused on accessibility and social inclusion.
• Saturday, April 11 – 10:30 AM – School activity: visit and technological project with Istituto Comprensivo G. Giusti from Campo nell’Elba.
• Tuesday, April 14 – 4:00 PM – "The paths of girls and boys": an educational project for primary schools in collaboration with Legambiente and local institutes.
• Saturday, April 18 – 3:30 PM – Historical and naturalistic walk along the Cammino della Rada to the Villa, led by the archaeologist. Duration about 2 hours. Easy route; suitable footwear recommended. Meeting point: San Giovanni, in front of the boat pier.
• Saturday, April 25 – 10:00 AM – "Porto Aperto": guided visit led by National Park guides as part of the Italian Port Days. Duration 2.5 hours – free. Reservation required.

Adult and family activities run alongside tailored programmes for children, teenagers and schools. The initiative aims to present the archaeological site as a place of learning and discovery, with activities suitable for all ages.
