On April 5, 2026, the Civic Museum of Cabras opens an exhibition that reunites the Mont’e Prama Giants in a single display within the Sala del Paesaggio. Following their definitive return from Cagliari, the statues will be presented together to convey their archaeological importance and historical meaning.
The Mont’e Prama Foundation, together with local authorities and conservation bodies, coordinated the installation to highlight both the symbolic power of the finds and the technical requirements for their preservation.
The museum is undergoing significant upgrades, including a planned extension to house the Giants with controlled humidity and temperature, multimedia displays, and visible restoration workshops where visitors can observe conservation work. The project aims to position the Civic Museum of Cabras as a central cultural hub for the Sinis area, in network with archaeological sites such as Tharros and the San Salvatore hypogeum.
Organisers emphasize that the new layout is designed to protect the artefacts while improving public access and educational opportunities, with the long-term goal of increasing cultural tourism in the region.
Practical note: check the museum’s official channels for updated opening hours, ticketing and guided-visit information.
