Antique Fair in Buonconvento: four days of treasures and sustainable discovery

When: April 3–6, 2026 • Where: historic center of Buonconvento (SI), Tuscany

The 42nd edition of the regional Antique Fair “Cose del Passato” will turn Buonconvento’s medieval streets into a widespread market. Exhibitors will animate alleys, squares and restored historic premises with antiques, vintage finds and 20th-century art.

The event highlights sustainability and circular economy through the reuse of furniture and objects. A special feature this year is the return of the Treno Natura, the historic steam train offering a slow, evocative journey through the Tuscan countryside to the village center.

Key program highlights

  • Friday, April 3: fair opening; 9:00 PM solemn Good Friday procession re-enacting the Via Crucis (tradition dating to 1726).
  • Saturday, April 4: creative workshop and Easter egg hunt at the Museo della Mezzadria; 5:00 PM storytelling and songs on the Passion at the Museum of Sacred Art with Michele Neri.
  • Sunday, April 5: Nicola Costanti concert in Via Soccini.
  • Monday, April 6: themed markets “Crea e Dimostra” and “Collector’s Corner”; Treno Natura service to Buonconvento.

Exhibitions and museums to visit

  • Museo d’Arte Sacra della Val d’Arbia (from April 3): painting exhibition “Between Dream and Reality” by Massimo Sonnini.
  • Town Hall (Palazzo Comunale) (from April 3): “Roots and Horizons: a journey into marquetry” by Ferdinando Cerruto.
  • Museo della Mezzadria Senese (from April 4): displays and workshops on local farming traditions and market activities.

The Antique Fair offers a chance to experience Buonconvento’s atmosphere—where history, art and sustainability meet. It’s ideal for collectors, families and visitors interested in slow travel and local culture.

Practical tips: prefer public transport or the Treno Natura for a low-impact visit; wear comfortable shoes for cobbled streets; check the local schedule for possible changes to times and events.
