La Materia Ri-Nata: Eco Re-Use and Trash "Global" Metropolis

On Friday 20 March 2026 GARD Galleria Arte Roma Design opens a new edition of La Materia Ri‑Nata, a collective exhibition focused on creative re-use and contemporary practices that transform waste into artworks. Established in 1997, the project has become a reference for artists working with recovered materials and material experimentation.

The show presents unique works by 16 artists, all engaged with environmental themes: recycling, re‑use and respect for the planet. The Trash "Global" Metropolis section offers a critical portrayal of urban degradation and the consequences of waste in global cities.

  • Purpose: raise public awareness about the artistic potential of recovered materials and encourage reflection on consumption and disposal habits.
  • Participatory project: the opening will feature RICORDA DI DIRE NO! by Ugo Spagnuolo, a collective action inviting visitors to voice a conscious "NO" against war, abuses and human rights violations.
  • Featured artists: the exhibition includes works by Angela Consoli, Paolo Camiz, Daniela Di Gregorio Zitella, Giuseppe Carmelo Laghezza, Rita Manetta and other artists specialized in re‑use art.

Exhibited languages range from metal and wood assemblages to sculptural transformations of everyday objects (rims, windows, furniture parts), lighting installations and photographic works documenting landscapes marred by waste.

The exhibition is meant as both a viewing experience and a forum for discussion: visitors are encouraged to observe, reflect and actively engage with the works on display.

Practical information: opening on 20/03/2026 at GARD Galleria Arte Roma Design. For opening hours, tickets and guided tours, please refer to the gallery's official channels.
