Brescia Photo Festival 2026: a city-wide photography festival

From 26 to 29 March 2026 Brescia becomes an open laboratory for contemporary photography. Organized by Fondazione Brescia Musei together with the Municipality of Brescia, the festival presents exhibitions, book launches, conferences and screenings across multiple city venues.

Festival format and route

The festival adopts a renewed format: it is a distributed project that crosses the urban fabric. Alongside major cultural institutions, independent spaces, associations and everyday places participate to create a trail of exhibitions and events that invites visitors to discover the city through images.

Main exhibition: Bruce Gilden. A closer look

The festival opens with the first major solo show of Bruce Gilden in Italy (Magnum Photos). Titled Bruce Gilden. A closer look, the exhibition gathers some 80 photographs spanning decades of practice: portraits from the Faces series (2013–2024), early black-and-white work and reportage from cities around the world. The project includes a site-specific installation titled Grace / Grazia. Bruce Gilden for Raffaello and audiovisual materials that trace the artist's career.

Program and guests

The program features exhibition openings, roundtables, book presentations and meetings with authors, critics and scholars. Renowned curators and photographers will participate, offering thematic insights and perspectives on contemporary photographic practice.
