Venice Biennale 2026: "A Kiss on the Eyes" at the Turkey Pavilion

Nilbar Güreş presents a range of recent and earlier works at the Turkey Pavilion under the title A Kiss on the Eyes. The presentation emphasizes textile art as a carrier of memory, craft and political reflection.

Curated by Basak Doga Temur, the show features sculpture, installation, painting and mixed-media pieces on paper and fabric produced between December 2025 and March 2026. Many works emerged from collaborative production involving sculptors, metalworkers, seamstresses and artisans, highlighting the value of manual labor and domestic practices often overlooked in mainstream art history.
