Awaiting Selve 2026: theatre and dance in Ventasso schools

In May, two appointments of the Awaiting Selve 2026 program — organised by Intelfade APS under artistic director Daria Menichetti — will take place in the schools of the Ludovico Ariosto Comprehensive Institute in Ventasso. The initiative brings high-quality performing arts to communities in the Reggiano Apennines to engage children and young people.

• 21 May 2026, 10:00 – Sala Polivalente, Ramiseto: D'Un Tratto (Cecilia Ventriglia and Valeria Colonnella), a wordless performance for nursery, kindergarten and early primary classes.
• 25 May 2026, 10:00 – Piazza G. Baisi, Ramiseto: KANU (Piccoli Idilli), a musical-narrative show inspired by the oral tradition of the griots for third–fifth grade students.
• 26 May 2026, 10:00 – Parco Canevari, Busana: KANU (replica) for local nursery and primary schools.

The program serves as a lead-up to the summer festival SELVE_community theatre (14–23 August 2026) and the planned reopening of the Cinema Teatro Paradiso in Ligonchio. "Bringing performances of this artistic quality to schools is one of the most important acts of Awaiting Selve," says artistic director Daria Menichetti.

The project is produced by Intelfade APS with support from the Ministry of Culture, the European Union – NextGenerationEU (Italia Domani), and the Municipality of Ventasso.
