Ancona lights up wine season: "Vinitaly and the City – Marche in Wine"

The autumn edition of Vinitaly and the City will be held in Ancona under the project name "Marche in Wine." The initiative was announced in Verona after the recent Vinitaly fair and was presented by regional president Francesco Acquaroli alongside Veronafiere president Federico Bricolo, deputy director general Gianni Bruno and regional vice president Enrico Rossi.

Scheduled for three days in the autumn, the event intends to turn the city into a widespread stage for wine culture, tastings and meetings aimed at wine lovers and enotourists. The initiative seeks to promote local production chains, territorial biodiversity and typical products, using wine as a way to tell the region’s identity.

• cultural events and themed appointments linking wine, landscape and heritage;
• active participation of local businesses to generate economic and promotional benefits;
• the city visually "dressed in purple," the symbol color of the initiative.

The format, already established in Verona, is now aimed at engaging the public directly and strengthening the Marche’s profile as an enogastronomic destination. The event will also contribute to Ancona’s narrative ahead of its role as Italian Capital of Culture 2028, providing visibility for producers and local operators.
