AI-QUILA — Intelligences and culture for the territory — is now part of the L'Aquila Italian Capital of Culture 2026 programme. The municipal council approved the project proposal promoted by Fondazione Magna Carta: a plan to combine artificial intelligence technologies, cultural practices and local development.
The initiative targets schools, universities and communities across the seismic area, aiming to make technology a tool for cultural enhancement and territorial regeneration.
According to the municipal administration, the project seeks to strengthen the link between culture and innovation, with particular attention to internal areas. Mayor Pierluigi Biondi emphasized that “artificial intelligence is not only a technological challenge, but an opportunity to rethink cultural and development models for our territories.”
AI-QUILA aims to be an operational tool for broad participation and for training new competencies useful to the cultural and social growth of the city and the entire seismic district.
