From 11 April to 24 May 2026, the ground floor of the Museo di Roma at Palazzo Braschi presents "It’s Happening Again", a solo exhibition by artist Adrian Tranquilli. The show brings together three newly produced installations that reflect the artist’s thirty-year research into identity, myth and the instability of power, blending art, music and popular cultural references.
The works on display (My Little White Book, 2026; Endsong, 2025; In Excelsis 6, 2024) use fragile materials such as playing cards to suggest precariousness while evoking monumental and timeless forms. Central to the exhibition is the figure of the antihero — epitomized by the Joker — through which Tranquilli examines collective imagery and cultural narratives.
Visual and sonic elements recall cinematic atmospheres, with nods to the monolithic aesthetics of 2001: A Space Odyssey and the visionary tones of David Lynch. Tranquilli’s recurring "house of cards" motif acts as a metaphor for the fragility of historical structures and power systems.
The exhibition presents a visual narrative where playfulness dissolves into the tragic, offering a focused opportunity to engage with contemporary installation art and the dialogue between material fragility and cultural symbolism.
