Explore the remains and underground areas of Lecco Castle

On Saturday 18 April 2026 a guided visit will allow access to parts of the fortress that are usually closed to the public. The event is organised by the FAI delegation of Lecco in collaboration with the Municipality and led by volunteer guides.

• Date: Saturday 18 April 2026
• Meeting point: courtyard of the Public Library (Biblioteca civica), via Bovara
• Groups: two groups of 26 participants each
• Meeting times: first group at 10:00; second group at 10:30
• Duration: about 90 minutes
• Recommended attire: comfortable footwear

What the visit includes

The route covers notable sections of the lakeside castle: bastions, the moat, the old guardhouse within the walls, the top of the Viscontean Tower and the base of San Nicolò bell tower, once used as an artillery position. These areas are normally inaccessible and offer important historical insights from the 14th–16th centuries.

• Wednesday - Sunday: 10:00 - 18:00
• Closed on Monday
