Pino Biggi — “The Aprons of Mary” at Chiesa della Spina (Pisa)

The Church of Santa Maria della Spina in Pisa hosts the exhibition “The Aprons of Mary”, a solo show by painter Pino Biggi curated by Paola Marini. The opening will take place on Tuesday 12 May 2026 at 12:00. The exhibition is on view until Sunday 21 June 2026.

The show focuses on an iconographic theme Biggi explored in the 1990s: in these works, defined by the artist as “the aprons of Mary”, only the lower halves of seated Madonnas are depicted, creating a dialogue between sacred tradition and the church’s architectural setting.
