Remo Salvadori, a leading figure of contemporary art

Remo Salvadori, an important figure in Italian contemporary art, passed away on 19 May 2026. Born in Cerreto Guidi and educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, he made Milan his base from the 1970s, where he lived and worked.

Salvadori's artistic path included solo and group exhibitions both in Italy and internationally. His participation in major events contributed to his recognition on the international scene.

Highlights of his career

  • Education: Academy of Fine Arts, Florence.
  • Base: Milan from 1972, where he developed most of his work.
  • International presence: appearances at major exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale (1980s–1990s) and Documenta in Kassel.
  • Recent retrospective: in 2025 a multi-venue retrospective in Milan revisited his production.

For further information, check the programs of cultural institutions and museums in Milan, which may announce tributes, archival openings or future exhibitions dedicated to his work. Salvadori's oeuvre remains the subject of research and displays.

Practical note: the art world loses an influential voice; collectors, curators and enthusiasts should follow official communications for announcements about commemorations or exhibitions.
