Exhibition on Giacomo Matteotti in San Gimignano

The traveling exhibition "Matteotti in the League of Socialist Municipalities 1916-1922: history, legacy and relevance of local democracy" was inaugurated on Wednesday, April 22 at the Sala Cancelleria in San Gimignano. The display will remain in the town until May 3 as part of the Liberation anniversary events.

Produced by the Municipality of San Gimignano with ALI (Autonomie Locali Italiane), the Istituto Storico della Resistenza Senese and the local ANPI section, the exhibition uses documents, images, 19 panels and an audio file to present Matteotti's political and administrative work in support of democratic local governance.

The exhibition highlights Matteotti not only as a symbol of anti-fascism but also as an attentive local administrator, prompting reflection on the legacy of local democracy and the role of municipal institutions.
