The Diocesan Museum of Reggio Calabria launches the photographic exhibition Gaza. Where Life Endures on May 16, showcasing works by Palestinian photographer Fadi A. Thabet. The event is part of the International Museum Day 2026 programme promoted by ICOM, which highlights museums' role in fostering dialogue and peaceful coexistence.
The exhibition brings together previously unseen images and recent photographs that portray daily life in Gaza: beyond conflict reporting, the series focuses on resilience, personal ties and the persistence of identity amid hardship. The display is organised in six sections designed to guide visitors through an emotional and narrative journey.
The initiative involves local partners including ISMED, Parco Ecolandia and Spazio Open, and aligns with ICOM 2026's theme "Museums that unite a divided world", turning exhibition spaces into places of exchange and remembrance.
Practical information: check the Diocesan Museum's schedule for visiting hours. Note the special free opening on Monday, May 18 from 17:00 to 20:00—an excellent opportunity to see both the temporary exhibition and the museum's permanent collections.
