2nd International Contemporary Art Biennale in Potenza

The International Contemporary Art Biennale returns to Potenza with its second edition. The opening night is scheduled for Wednesday, 1 April 2026 at 18:00 at the Museo Provinciale di Potenza "Michele La Cava" (via Lazio 18).

Organized by the Lucana Art Commission under the leadership of president Raimondo Andreolo (artist name ARPA), the exhibition brings together diverse visual languages, combining academic traditions with contemporary practices.

What to expect

  • Exhibition sections: Painting, Sculpture, Drawing, Graphic Art and Photography.
  • Participants: approximately 100 artists, mainly from academic backgrounds, presenting works from figurative to abstract styles.
  • Historical section: a dedicated display of Lucanian masters from the 20th century.

Curated by Vincenzo Claps, the program is designed to create a dialogue between established regional masters and contemporary voices, positioning Potenza as a node in the national cultural conversation.

Featured Lucanian masters

  • Italo Squitieri
  • Remigio and Vincenzo Claps
  • Luigi Guerricchio
  • Giuseppe Antonello Leone
