Now in its 64th edition, the Salone del Mobile returns to the Rho Fiera exhibition centre in Milan. This trade fair dedicated to furniture and design, taking place from 21 to 26 April, will once again prove itself to be one of the most important and eagerly awaited international events in Italy.
Are you ready to discover it with us?
Founded in 1961 in Milan, during a period of great economic and cultural ferment in Italy – the economic boom of the 1960s – the Salone del Mobile, led by Tito Armellini, set itself the goal of promoting Italian exports in the furniture industry and its accessories, capitalising on the growing demand for furniture and home furnishings and exhibiting at the Palazzo del Mobile in 1953. From its first edition, which featured around 328 exhibitors and 12,000 visitors, the fair has since expanded to become a key event in Milan Design Week and now boasts 2,300 exhibiting companies across 210,000 square metres and around 370,000 visitors from over 188 countries.

Furthermore, every year, the event runs alongside biennial exhibitions and extends beyond the exhibition centre, offering a range of installations, exhibitions and performances that enrich the whole of Milan.
Chaired by Maria Porro and under the general direction of Marco Sabetta, the event will feature over 1,900 exhibitors from 32 countries and more than 169,000 square metres of net exhibition space, showcasing the excellence of Italian-made products and international design through a communication campaign entitled “A Matter of Salone”, which explores matter as the physical and symbolic origin of design, whilst also taking sustainability into account, to which specific installations and masterclasses will be dedicated.
