Y.O.U. Your Own Universe: art, technology and audience participation

Y.O.U. Your Own Universe is an immersive installation created by the collective Numero Cromatico and produced as part of the glo for art program. The work combines visual languages, interaction and algorithms to turn visitors from observers into co-creators of the exhibited space.

The set design uses vertical surfaces, responsive lighting and projection systems that react to visitors' movements: individual gestures are translated into visual marks and texts projected across the space, producing an ever-changing landscape.

Main features of the installation

• Interactive environment: the cloister becomes a responsive setting where light, sound and images reshape based on participants' interactions.
• Algorithmic oracle: a system that weaves together artificial intelligence and human language to offer evocative glimpses of possible futures.
• Collective authorship: individual interactions accumulate and are projected onto the walls, contributing to the continuous metamorphosis of the work.

Context and venue

The installation is located in the cloister of Palazzo Moscova, at the heart of the Brera Design District in Milan — a setting that encourages dialogue among design, creativity and the public. The project aligns with Fuorisalone's emphasis on experiential and participatory approaches.

Design and related products

During the exhibition, a limited edition version of the glo Hilo Plus, inspired by McLaren Racing, is also showcased: a demonstration of how aesthetics and technological performance meet in product language. Devices from the Hilo line are integrated into the installation to allow visitors to personalize and leave a trace of their presence.
