Capua marks the roots of the Italian language with the XI Placito Capuano, a reenactment recalling the 960 A.D. document considered among the earliest notarial acts in the vernacular. The event combines historic parades, performances and guided tours of the city's monuments.
The event offers special openings and guided walks that highlight Capua's architectural heritage, with stops at Lombard churches such as San Salvatore a Corte and San Michele, plus local museums. Routes focus on both the monumentality and the linguistic-historical context of the Placito.
Venue: Piazza dei Giudici, Capua. The event is promoted by the Touring Club Italiano – Club di Territorio Terra di Lavoro together with local partners.
