Anna Perach — Dis/Enchanted Interiors: first institutional solo in Florence

Dis/Enchanted Interiors marks Anna Perach’s first institutional solo exhibition in Italy. The project is hosted across the MAD Murate Art District and the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnology, University of Florence, fostering a conversation between heritage spaces and contemporary artistic practices.

What to see

  • Tufted textile installations that play with patterns, textures and cultural references.
  • Wearable sculptures challenging the boundaries between body, garment and performance.
  • Site‑specific works created to respond to the architectural and museographic context, including interventions outside the conventional route.
  • Key works: Mother of Monsters (a reinterpretation of the corset examining control over the female body), Alkonost (a woman‑bird figure from Slavic mythology), Uncanny Valley (embroidered heads evoking cultural memory and unease) and Dismembered Venus (a reflection on female body archetypes and historical anatomical practices).

Opening and activations

The inauguration took place on Thursday 14 May 2026 at 18:00, featuring performances that activate selected works: choreography developed with choreographer Barbara Carulli, performed by dancers from Centro Culturale Garage P., and sound contributions by the artist SADI. New pieces were created by the artist specifically for the project.
