Voghera gears up for the Giro: €150,000 committed

Voghera will host a stage of the Giro d’Italia on May 24. The Municipality, together with the local company ASM, has allocated €150,000 to support the organisation, intending to turn the race into an opportunity to promote the territory culturally and touristically.

The local administration has launched a search for sponsors to reduce the burden on public budgets and to engage businesses and associations. The Giro is presented as a catalyst to highlight Voghera’s heritage and animate the town centre with side events aimed at residents and visitors.

Planned complementary activities include:

• cycle-tourism routes and thematic maps to explore nearby villages and landscapes;
• temporary exhibitions and guided visits to local monuments and museums;
• food and wine events and markets featuring regional producers;
• school programmes and workshops on sustainable mobility.

The Municipality emphasizes that the investment is designed not only for immediate economic returns but also to build a lasting cultural and tourist offer. At the same time, some local stakeholders have requested more details about the financial plan and organisational impacts, while the administration continues talks with private partners to cover part of the costs.
