PerugiAssisi launches a "Workshop for Peace": press conference outlines programme for Perugia, Bastia Umbra and Assisi

On Thursday 9 April 2026 at 11:00, the Province of Perugia (Piazza Italia 11) will host a press conference where the PerugiAssisi Foundation for the Culture of Peace will present the "PerugiAssisi Workshop for Peace and Sustainable Development" project. Supported by the Fondazione Perugia and promoted with the municipalities of Perugia, Bastia Umbra and Assisi, the project aims to create a living territorial laboratory for peace culture.

Main goals include making the PerugiAssisi route a daily Path of Peace, promoting sustainable practices, and fostering a culture of nonviolence inspired by Saint Francis and Aldo Capitini, aligned with the 2030 Agenda and the UN Pact for the Future.

• Project presentation: activities planned across the three municipalities crossed by the March.
• Podcast: launch of "PerugiAssisi. The Way to Peace", a 10-episode series featuring voices such as Alex Zanotelli, Francesca Albanese, Tomaso Montanari and Erica Boschiero alongside young activists.
• April programme: cultural, educational and participatory events aimed at schools, associations and local communities.

Speakers include institutional and civil society representatives such as Massimiliano Presciutti (President of the Province of Perugia), Valter Stoppini (Mayor of Assisi), Erigo Pecci (Mayor of Bastia Umbra), Lucia Maddoli (Councillor for Peace, Perugia) and Flavio Lotti (President of the PerugiAssisi Foundation).

The press conference is open to media and will present the schedule of activities and ways for schools, associations and citizens to get involved.
