Itinerant Via Crucis in Sant'Arsenio: the village gathers for the traditional stations

The traditional Via Crucis in Sant'Arsenio was held as a moving procession, turning the village streets into a path of prayer and reflection. The evening event attracted residents, church leaders and volunteers who helped prepare the stations along the route.

Event highlights:

  • Fourteen stations depicting the Passion of Christ were arranged at key points through the village.
  • The procession passed historic squares and churches, concluding with a final scene at Serrone near the Church of San Salvatore.
  • Actors in period costume accompanied the procession to enhance the visual and spiritual impact.

The role of Jesus was performed by Arsenio Coiro, while Monica Battipaglia portrayed the Madonna. The initiative was organized by the Parish of Santa Maria Maggiore under the coordination of Don Martino Romano, with Don Antonio Breglia reading the passages throughout the route.

Local citizens and volunteers played a key role in setting up the stations and ensuring the success of the event. Organizers thank everyone who took part and supported the Via Crucis. Photographic documentation was provided by local photographers.
