A glass rose and an egg mended with gold: the "Rosa is Palermo / Rosa is Licata" project

Fondazione Made in Sicily Museum Ets has announced an international project for the centenary of Rosa Balistreri. The initiative includes two artistic installations—one in Licata and one in Palermo—designed to communicate symbolically across the artist's places of life.

• Marlene Rose (USA): a glass rose made using sand from Licata;
• Veronica Mancuso (Palermo): a sculpture shaped like an egg, a symbol of birth and rebirth;
• Aya Oguma (Japan): work on the fragments using the Kintsugi technique, repairing with gold to turn breaks into value.

The two works will engage in a dialogue linking the key cities of the singer's life. The foundation indicates the installations are scheduled for inauguration in March 2027.

The project will be funded through the foundation's 5x1000 campaign; the tax code to donate is 97389450822. The foundation has also created the Fondo Liotti to preserve recordings, documents and unpublished materials related to the singer.
