Una Boccata d'Arte 2026: a nationwide art residency project
Fondazione Elpis presents the seventh edition of Una Boccata d'Arte, a contemporary art initiative launched in 2020 that places artists in residence within small Italian villages. The 2026 edition focuses on site-specific works and deeper engagement between artistic practice and local contexts.
Dates: simultaneous inaugurations on 20–21 June 2026; the edition runs until 4 October 2026.
Residencies have been extended to allow more on-site research, meetings with local communities, artisans and partners. This longer timeframe encourages projects that interrogate their relationship with place and enables the reactivation of permanent works created in previous editions.
Main features of the 2026 edition:
- 20 artists from Italy and abroad;
- 20 villages, one in each region, hosting site-specific interventions;
- Focus on permanence and reactivation of existing works;
- Emphasis on sustained dialogue between artists and local communities.

The 2026 edition consolidates the project as a distributed cultural infrastructure: extended residencies allow for more complex interventions and the reactivation of works already present in the villages. Fondazione Elpis continues its activities in Milan through Villa, Lavanderia and Atelier Elpis, supporting research and practices that connect art and local contexts.
