Tullio Pericoli — Terre rupestri e Terremobili

From 28 March to 17 May 2026 the Romanesque Pieve di San Siro in Cemmo di Capo di Ponte (BS) hosts Terre rupestri e Terremobili, an exhibition by painter and draftsman Tullio Pericoli that explores a dialogue between contemporary painting and the ancient rock art of Valle Camonica.

  • Dates: 2026-03-28 – 2026-05-17
  • Venue: Pieve di San Siro, Via Pieve di San Siro, Cemmo di Capo di Ponte (BS), Italy
  • Opening hours: Saturday and Sunday 10:00–19:00; other days by reservation
  • Admission: Free

The exhibition gathers 31 oil paintings in which Pericoli reinterprets the ancient incised signs of the Camonica Valley, turning them into motifs of movement, memory and environmental vulnerability. The works draw on Iron Age graffiti and local archaeological maps, notably the Bedolina plan.

The installation preserves the Pieve’s historic and sacred atmosphere: lightweight, minimalist display structures and a carefully designed lighting scheme highlight the canvases without overwhelming the architecture. A video projection on the apse enriches the visual narrative.

During the opening weekend (28–29 March) guided tours are led by the FAI Valle Camonica and Sebino group; the inauguration on 28 March at 11:30 features the artist and critic Salvatore Settis. Weekends offer critical accompaniment by young art history graduates, while the Federation of Tourist Guides of Valle Camonica arranges weekday tours that connect the church, the exhibition, the Seradina and Bedolina archaeological park and the Mupre museum.

Information and bookings: Infopoint Capo di Ponte – WhatsApp +39 334 6575628 – email: [email protected]. The exhibition is accompanied by a Moebius catalogue with a critical essay by Salvatore Settis.

Organised by the Associazione culturale d’ADA with the artist and supported by local partners, the show proposes a contemplative route linking archaeology, landscape and contemporary art, and invites reflection on the transformations of the territory.
