Triennale Milano at Milan Design Week 2026

From 20 to 26 April 2026, Triennale Milano participates in Milan Design Week with a varied program across indoor spaces, the Sala Sottsass and the garden. The lineup includes both free installations and ticketed exhibitions.

Main installations

• CASA ULTRAPIEGA (Anonima Castelli) – a garden installation that showcases the production process of the ULTRAPIEGA seat with panels and elements referencing the industrial chain.
• The Eames Houses (Eames Office) – archive materials, films and scale models of Charles and Ray Eames’ houses; simultaneously the new Eames Pavilion System, developed with Kettal, will be on display.
• Partner projects – site-specific interventions by companies and institutions such as Fredericia, Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, HYLEtech and Kvadrat.

Retrospectives, collections and Museum of Italian Design exhibitions

The Museum of Italian Design exhibits over four hundred items from its permanent collection and hosts temporary shows, including a retrospective on Edward Barber | Jay Osgerby and exhibitions on Andrea Branzi and Lella and Massimo Vignelli. Some sections require a ticket; student concessions are available according to museum policy.

Outdoor spaces and services

• Giardino Giancarlo De Carlo – a relaxation and meeting area that includes the Cucina Triennale bar-restaurant.
• Piano parco – exhibition "Nello spazio di un secolo. Rai Pubblicità, 100 anni di storia e oltre" presenting archive material on the history of visual communication in Italy.

Educational events and side activities

The schedule features workshops, round tables and labs, including the HYLEtech Lab: Light in Matter, focused on atmosphere, sustainability and materials with contributions from international architects and designers. There are also spaces for artists and generative installations.
