SUSTAINera debuts The Art of Reuse at Milan Design Week 2026, an installation by the collective Truly Design that repurposes discarded automotive components into visual and sculptural works. The project aims to make the principles of reuse and circular economy tangible through artistic expression.
The exhibition assembles elements such as grilles, doors and panels sourced from the Mirafiori Dismantling Center, reworked into canvases and sculptures. A prominent circular motif symbolizes the dynamic ecosystem of the circular economy, while diagonal bands and graphic patterns highlight the contrast between linear and regenerative models.
The Art of Reuse embodies the 4R strategy — Reuse, Regeneration, Repair, Recycle — and seeks to engage audiences by showing the creative potential of reclaimed materials. Bright colors, varied textures and bold forms translate technical themes into accessible aesthetic experiences, promoting sustainability as a cultural and design value.
On April 21 a Bravery Bar workshop with IAAD will invite students to experiment with upcycling for fashion, accessories and interior design using materials recovered from Stellantis production. The partnership also opens paths for thesis projects and digital campaigns focused on reuse.
The installation is aimed at designers and artists, students and professionals interested in sustainable practices, and the general public curious about how technical waste can be transformed into meaningful design and art.
